Brendan and Sam may have started Select 4WD Products in 2017, but their story goes back way further than that!
Brendan was born into the 4WD Industry as the son of Ken O'Keefe, founder and director The Ultimate Suspension. Brendan grew up emersed in the 4WD industry with a lot of his childhood spent in the workshop, on the trails or following his parents around the country watching them both compete in off road racing events like the Australian Safari.

The on-going passion for four wheel driving and camping saw Brendan start working in the family business as an apprentice mechanic. It was around this time that he introduced his Brother-in-Law Samuel Duran to the world of four wheel driving.

Sam started working with Brendan at the Ultimate Suspension and they both completed their mechanical apprenticeships together. Samuel stayed in the workshop fitting suspension, building leaf springs and tuning shock absorbers. Brendan moved into a sales and development role.
During their time at The Ultimate Suspension, Brendan and Sam saw the need and oopurtunity to start supplying 4WD Accessories as well. The number one rule with suspension is that all of the vehicle weight should be added before the suspension is upgraded. This saw a lot of customers being sent away to get their bullbars and winches fitted before doing the suspension. The boys weren't happy with this and started supplying and fitting accessories alongside The Ultimate Suspension. It was only a couple of months before they outgrew the premises and expanded into their own workshop under the name Select 4WD Products.

The name "Select 4WD Products" has a double meaning. Firstly, there is no better feeling than "Selecting 4WD" when you are about to hit the trail. This excitment is something the pair wanted to embody with their business. Secondly, they only wanted to supply and fit a "select" range of premium 4WD products. To this day, there is not a single product in their range which the pair would not use or recommend themselves.
